October 2014 Volunteer Interpreter Training Photos

On October 10, 2014, Asian Pacific Women’s Center co-hosted our first free volunteer interpreter training with the Center for the Pacific Asian Family at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center. The training lasted from 9 AM - 4 PM. There was a great turn-out of 20+ people from the community who attended to learn more about domestic violence and how it affects Asian and Pacific Islander families. Attendees also learned how to properly interpret for survivors and their case managers or counselors. We at APWC are grateful to all who attended for their service to our community and their willingness to help our women and children survivors of domestic violence transition to self-sufficient and violence-free lives!
