My Dear Women Friends:

Just a reminder that my next Women’s Dialogue, “Women in Public Safety”, will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2008. I will be host to six prominent women who work in a variety of public safety fields. Our panelists are:

• Gail Abarbanel, LCSW: Founder & Director, nationally recognized Rape Treatment Center at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center
• Chun-Yen Chen, MPA: Executive Director, Asian Pacific Women’s Center, providing safe haven and multicultural and multilingual support to victims of domestic violence
• The Honorable Elena Duarte: Judge, Criminal Division, Los Angeles County Superior Court
• Dr. Grace Harper: Deputy Superintendent / Chief, Inspection Bureau, City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety.
• Asst. Chief Sharon Papa: Chief of Support Services, Los Angeles Police Department.
• Firefighter Rosa Tufts: Arson Investigator, Arson/Counter Terrorism Section, Los Angeles Fire Department

The Dialogue will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 3rd Floor, 200 North Spring Street, Los Angeles.

If you would like to participate in the "Women in Public Safety" Dialogue, you must R.S.V.P. to Miriam Jaffe at miriam.jaffe@lacity.org by Friday, May 16th..

Instructions for free parking will be sent to you in the next few weeks. If you find that you must cancel for whatever reason, please let Miriam know. If you do not, your name will be deleted from our Women’s List.
