Chun-Yen Chen, Executive Director
Chun-Yen has been the Executive Director of APWC since 2001. She has a Masters in Public Administration from the State University of New York at Albany where she is a Doctoral Candidate in Policy Analysis. Prior to joining APWC, she was a Senior Budget Examiner for the New York State Division of Budget where she received experience in public budgeting, state government and legislature environment, public health policy, non-profit management, program and policy evaluation, public relations and marketing, and community networking and outreach. As Executive Director, Chun-Yen is responsible for ensuring the overall delivery of high quality services consistent with the APWC's mission statement and the organization’s goals.
Chun-Yen has received multiple awards for her dedication in serving battered immigrant families. In 2004, she received an award from State Assemblymember Judy Chu for the First Annual Asian Pacific Islander Awareness Month, Women’s Issues; and a “Citizen of the Year” Award from Los Angeles Skyline Lions Club. In 2005, she was named one of the Asian Pacific American Heritage Month "Local Hero of the Year" by KCET. In 2006, she received "Chinese Overseas Outstanding Youth Award" from the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association, Los Angeles, which recognized her outstanding contribution and dedication to the community.
Lyane Peralta, Clinical Supervisor
Lyane is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She received her Masters of Social Work from California State University, Long Beach, with an emphasis in working with children, youths and their families. Lyane worked for several social service agencies, including Chinatown Service Center, WRAP Family Services, and Big Sisters of Los Angeles prior to joining APWC.
